A New Superfood Drink To Make For Your Guests This Year

Hosting parties and gatherings can be intimidating, but the right balance of delicious apps and tasty drinks guarantees a good time. I recently made a cocktail that has become my new crowd-pleaser. After hosting my last event, I had multiple people asking me what was in the drink. I used the smooth small-batch vodka produced by OOLA Distillery and Modica’s Tart Cherry Old Fashioned mix to create this tangy, refreshing, and memorable beverage.

To create this batch cocktail, I started with finding GOOD alcohol. I gave OOLA Distillery’s Vodka a try, and I’m so glad that I did. Not only is this vodka smooth, but it’s filtered using charcoal to retain the flavor of locally sourced grain. I could absolutely drink this vodka on it’s own (with sliced cucumber, a splash of lime juice and seltzer would be my go-to) but I knew I wanted to serve my guests the best option for this cocktail. Including a premium vodka like this one was the key to elevating this recipe. I used two cups of this vodka for my alcohol base.

I also wanted to ensure my cocktail was easy to make, and re-make throughout the evening. I found Modica mixes and was inspired by the ingredients. Modica cocktail mixes are made with superfood ingredients and less sugar than most other mixers. Plus, b-vitamins and electrolytes in every mixer! I used 1.5 cups of the Tart Cherry Old Fashioned mix to add to my batch cocktail. I added the juice of two lemons and two clementines, and filled up the remaining space in my pitcher full of club soda. I garnished the pitcher with slides of lemons and clementines (you can also sub for orange, I just had clementines on hand).

Sure enough, I saw that my guests loved this cocktail. The pitchers were quickly emptied. Using my OOLA Vodka and Modica mix, I was easily able to recreate this drink in just a few minutes. I will definitely be trying out more Modica mixes and different spirits from OOLA Distillery for all my future hosting experiences.
