Calling all fine-haired friends! Let’s talk hair oils. As someone blessed with baby fine hair, finding the right oil that won’t turn my locks into a greasy mess has been a struggle. Granted, a first-world struggle, but a struggle nonetheless. But after many years of trial and error, I have a some go-to favorite finds that help give my lifeless hair that extra bit of love it needs (Pro tip: only use a drop or two of hair oil and apply to ends of the hair):
For Shine: So no one told me hair was gonna be this way … clap, clap, clap, clap. Jennifer Aniston’s Lolavie Lighweight Hair Oil is a luxurious blend of natural oils all mixed together with a sprinkle of her magic (okay, maybe this part is exaggerated, but I believe it). This holy grail oil is like liquid silk for my strands, instantly transforming unkempt hair into a post-salon look. It smells heavenly, is made with natural ingredients – like all of these products – and exactly what I need post-shower to let my hair air dry (or blow dry) with style. I love taking this oil (and Lolavie’s travel kit) on the go; 10/10 recommendation for your ditty bag.
For Flyaways: Living Proof No Frizz Vanishing Oil. You know those days when your hair seems to have a mind of its own, frizzing up like crazy? Thanks, humidity. Just a small drop of this oil (trust me, a little dab will work wonders) is perfect for my day-two hair or when I’m trying to tame those unruly flyaways during the summer months. While most oils are heavy and leave fine hair feeling like a greasy mess, this one is lightweight and leaves your hair feeling really soft and smooth. (I also swear by their shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo!)
For Nourishment: NAK Hair Nourish Hair Oil. While I’ve been a loyal user of the two aforementioned hair oils above, I thought it was important to give my hair something new and fresh to revitalize those strands and change things up. Hello, Nak. Australian-made and owned, Nak Hair uses natural and vegan ingredients to design products inspired by their down-under lifestyle. The combination of Coconut Oil and Sea Buckthorn Oil not only smelled like a tropical vacation, but acted as a detangler and oil in one. I hoped that by using this hair oil, it would make me one step closer to being as cool as Margot Robbie or Nicole Kidman. While it didn’t work that kind of magic, it did leave my air-dried hair incredibly soft and manageable. So I’ll take what I can get.
